Week 5 Reflection

 From week 5, we learned about copyright laws. Copyright law mean the right to copy. This is to protect the author, or the owner of the works provided. There are main parts to this law. This law stays intact to a work for the authors or creators' whole life plus 70 more years. An example is that certain movies cannot be played in the classrooms because they are copyrighted. They must have an educational purpose that pertains to the lesson you were teaching in class.

We have to be careful as educators, to not print a whole book for our students that cannot afford one. We have to also be careful when we use stories in our classrooms or posting videos that contain others works, and photos, so we do not get in trouble for the copyright law. We will have to proper source and/ or ask for permission to share the work.

Week 4 Reflection

 During week 4, we had to create our own QR code. This was a very fun and easy process. I created my QR code for a technology game website that children can use to learn how to do different processes in technology. I had to enter the URL of the website I was using in order to create the code. They had different ways you can edit it to make it better. You could add a background color or a different shape for the code. You did have to pay for that part, so I did not do that. I can save this for when I become an educator.  Using QR codes in the classroom is an easy way for students to have access to certain websites or activities you would like them to have. They can take the code home and scan or they can scan it right in the classroom. With that, they will always have access to them and they will not forget what the websites are called.

Week 7 Reflection

 During week 7, I have learned about the website ChatGPT. This was new to me. It reminds me of using "Hey Siri", on my iPhone. It is a website that can be used to ask questions or say statements and it will give you a response to it. It will quickly type out a response and I did not notice any spelling or grammar issues. The information it provided me with for my question was an accurate answer. However, I am not sure about if it can answer any question there is.  This is a great tool to ask simple questions but I do not think that it is essential to using in writing papers. There is no creditable evidence. It would not look very good on a paper to cite ChatGPT for your sources. This can be a growing issue for educators because it can be an easy way out for students instead of them doing their own research for their paper topics. I do not think I will continue to use it after this assignment.
